An under-rated way to get leads

Hi Reader,

We just hosted our second annual International Women’s Day Soirée, and let me tell ya, it was a good one.

But let’s talk about the lightbulb moment I had when I looked through all the registrations.

Practically every person who registered had championed me, worked with me, or attended one of our other events—or vice versa. In some way, shape, or form, we go back.

This is a common theme with Drio’s clients too. We can trace nearly every lead back to someone who referred us because we’ve established and maintained a relationship with them.

That’s why I believe in honoring your ecosystem.

Focus on going deeper, not going viral.

Because a partner who roots for you is so much better than a follower who barely knows your name.

🧠 Drio tip: Next time you’re looking for more projects or even audience members, consider how you can support your network first.

  • What kind of introduction can you make?
  • Who can you pass an opportunity along to?
  • Can you send someone a friendly note or invite them to coffee?

Twice a year, look at where your leads have come from.

Once you see who sparked those connections, you’re encouraged to keep nurturing that relationship.

  • Make sure they’re updated on what your business is doing now and what services you’re promoting.
  • While you’re at it, why not ask how you can help them?

What goes around comes around.

On that note, hit reply and let me know how I can help you.

Hi Reader, Everyone bought a ticket that was supposed to include a meal. It was prime dinner time. Stomachs were starting to rumble. And then… we found out that the food wasn’t coming. 🤦♀️ That’s what happened just before our International Women’s Day Soirée started. In the eleventh hour, we discovered there was a date mix-up with catering. Our own stomachs dropped—and then we kicked into high gear. Rachel and I scrambled to assemble refreshments. With some help from our board members, we...

Hi Reader, As we bid farewell to March, we reflect on a month filled with significant milestones and memorable experiences. Without a doubt, the highlight of the month was our celebration of the 2024 International Women's Day which was put on by us through our organization Monument Women's Creative Alliance. This event brought together our community in a powerful display of unity, empowerment, and advocacy for gender equality. From thought-provoking panel discussions to engaging activities at...

Hi Reader, Nothing makes me want to run off my frustrations more than feeling like I fell short. The other week, Hazel and I were talking about a project that had hit some unexpected bumps in the road. It was a tricky chat because I couldn’t stop wondering if I’d done something wrong. Had my Left-Brain, perfectionist ways failed me? There was this pit in my stomach that made it hard to think clearly about next steps. Hazel told me to sleep on it (she’s a wise one). And then I got the Dove...
