The most underrated resource for small businesses? 🤔

Published 3 months ago • 1 min read

Hey Reader,

I’ll keep this quick.

Have you looked into grants that your business is eligible for? If not, I suggest adding it to your to-do list.

Thanks to our business coach, in 2023, we learned that there are so many opportunities for small businesses, women-owned businesses, and minority-owned businesses to apply for grants.

These programs provide resources that help you:

  • Grow your business 🚀
  • Hire talented people 👷‍♀️
  • Purchase equipment đź’»

All while connecting you with other businesses that align with your core values.

As our coach showed us, you can also look for businesses that have received grants to put towards hiring contractors and other professionals. If you can demonstrate your business fits the hiring criteria (e.g. because you’re a small or minority-owned business), that incentivizes them to hire you.

Win-win. 🙌

The more ways you can connect with fellow brands who share your values, the greater your impact—whether it’s demonstrating environmental leadership, uplifting women, or propelling small and minority-owned businesses.

By teaming up, we become unstoppable.

In the eleventh hour, we discovered there was a date mix-up with catering. Our own stomachs dropped—and then we kicked into high gear. Rachel and I scrambled to assemble refreshments. With some help from our board members, we...

Hi Reader, As we bid farewell to March, we reflect on a month filled with significant milestones and memorable experiences. Without a doubt, the highlight of the month was our celebration of the 2024 International Women's Day which was put on by us through our organization Monument Women's Creative Alliance. This event brought together our community in a powerful display of unity, empowerment, and advocacy for gender equality. From thought-provoking panel discussions to engaging activities at...

Hi Reader, Nothing makes me want to run off my frustrations more than feeling like I fell short. The other week, Hazel and I were talking about a project that had hit some unexpected bumps in the road. It was a tricky chat because I couldn’t stop wondering if I’d done something wrong. Had my Left-Brain, perfectionist ways failed me? There was this pit in my stomach that made it hard to think clearly about next steps. Hazel told me to sleep on it (she’s a wise one). And then I got the Dove...
